Suspected Ritualist Arrested In Ogun State With Human Skull

A 25-year-old man was arrested in the Asese area of Ogun state by operatives of the State Police Command for being in possession of a human skull.

The arrest according to Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi a Police Public Relations Officer took place on a Friday around 12:00pm.

Mr. Oyeyemi in a chat with the press said the suspect was arrested by the Federal Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) who were tipped off by an anonymous source about the suspicious activities of the suspect and another person in a nearby bush.

“He informed us that he went into the bush to ease himself when he saw the two men hiding what looked like a human head in a sack .Upon the information, the Policemen went after the two men and subsequently got one of them arrested while the other one escaped.” said the Police PRO in his statement to the press.

When questioned, the Suspect admitted to having the skull for money ritual purposes. He said he and his escaped partner in crime were told by a native doctor to get the skull for the ritual.

In reaction to the incident, Chief Kasunmu Sonola the Baale of the area praised the efforts of the FSARS operatives while pleading with them to push further in decreasing criminal activity in the area.

An order was made by the Commissioner of Police in the State CP Ahmed Iliyasu for the search and arrest of the escaped partner of the arrested suspect who is to be charged to Court.
