Adamawa State-based institution, American University of Nigeria, Yola, has cleared the air over social media reports that Wizkid snubbed an event organized by the school.
The management of the University, according to several tweets, allegedly paid for the services of the Starboy records boss but he was a no-show. This made students of the school take to social media to express their disappointment.
The school has however disclosed Wizkid was never paid for the event and he also didn’t agree on a date with them. They made their position on the saga public via a signed statement, which partly reads:
“Many students were disappointed he could not make show and while expressing their disappointment they made statements, which were picked up by social media sites, that are inaccurate and do not reflect our position on this issue.
“AUN does not have any quarrel with Wizkid and we look forward to welcoming him on our campus at a future date.”
The school also took to Twitter to ask students to retweet their true position so as to correct the wrong impression that has since gone viral on Nigerian Twitter.
