15-year old wife mixes husband’s food with rat killer in Kano

One Sali Abubakar is currently battling for survival after eating food poisoned with rat killer by his 15-year-old housewife, Hasana.

The 33-year-old victim is in a critical condition at the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, Kano.

Confirming the arrest of Hassana, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, said the suspect hailed from Bichi village, in the Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state.

“On April 16, 2019, around 2 pm, the command received a report that the suspect served her husband food laced with rat poison.

“The victim was rushed to the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital for treatment,” he said.

The PPRO added that command had kept the suspect in custody and begun investigation into the matter. The suspect would be prosecuted when investigations are completed.
