17 dead as Kano hotel bombed, Boko Haram suspected

No fewer than 17 people were reportedly killed as a bomb exploded in Sabongari, Kano.

The incident occurred in a hotel on Gold Coast Road, near Aithen Road, Sabongari, an area usually frequented by non-indigenes of the State.

The attack is suspected to have been carried out by Boko Haram terrorists. The area bombed was a relaxation center were beer is served.

Beer and other alcoholic drinks are prohibited in the North under Sharia law.
