World Bank Urges Buhari To Remove Fuel Subsidy

1 Min Read

World Bank’s Lead Economist, John Litwack, yesterday advised the Buhari administration to act now if they are serious about the removal of fuel subsidy.

Litwack speaking at the launch of the new edition of Nigeria Economic Report, said that if the government really means to act as to the removal of fuel subsidy, now is the best time to do that, especially because the global crude oil price is at its lowest level.

Only time will tell whether the Buhari administration will remove the fuel subsidy, as many Nigerian’s and Nigerian bodies, including the Nigerian Labour Congress have vehemently opposed the plan.
