Nigeria lost one of its greatest musical minds, Fela Anikulapo Kuti on August 2, 1997.
The Afrobeat legend and activist passed on at the age of 58.
Fela, whose music still serves as a source of inspiration to many still lives on 19 years after in the minds of Nigerians, as they took to various social media platforms to pay tribute to the man who brought enlightenment and inspiration through his unique style of music.
The Economist was also not left out of the Fela buzz as they chipped in their tribute.
