200 Non-Governmental Organizations(NGO’s) gathered together on Tuesday in Abuja under the umbrella of Forum of Non-Governmental Organizations in Nigeria (FONGON) to organize a nationwide rally seeking support for President Buhari’s second term bid.

At the event which took place on Tuesday at Unity Fountain, Abuja, the National coordinator of FOGON Comrade Wole Badmus told the teeming crowd that the occasion was necessary to prevent the President’s administration from witch hunting and the public from being misled into believing the Buhari led administration has recorded no positive results since becoming President.

Comrade Badmus stated that there were attempts by looters and economic cabals to regain power and hold the treasury to ransom for their selfish benefits hence the need for the campaign.  He also spoke out against those writing to the President to discourage him from running for another term.

“We believe there will be more letters and voices urging him not to run and we urge Mr President not to heed such calls. Those who are for him are more than those who are against him.” said the National Coordinator.

Supporters trooped out with different campaign slogans such as “Inflation has fallen for 11 consecutive months to 15.3 percent ; Yoruba Youths Movement want  PMB beyond 2019; Elimination of ghost workers has saved the nation over N billion Arewa Solidarity Front supports PMB beyond 2019.” among many colorful inscriptions at the event.
