The Chelsea footballer had never hinted he was expecting kids, shocking fans as he posted a picture of himself and the twins on his Instagram page.
“My whole world in my arms. Welcome to the world my angels,” he captioned the photograph.
The mother of the children, as well as their sexes, is unknown.
Mikel’s Russian girlfriend, Olga Diyachenko, is being touted as the likely mother of the kids.
Olga Diyachenko and Mikel started dating in 2013 after reportedly meeting him in London where her millionaire father runs a chain of businesses.
She is also reportedly related to Chelsea’s Russian billionaire owner, Roman Abramovich.
