The violent confrontation between the Nigerian army and shi’ite sect in Zaria has caused huge local and international uproar with many pundits and activists lambasting the Nigerian army for not showing restraint in enforcing law and order.
The video shows how the peaceful protest quickly deteriorated into a full scale blood bath. Earlier in the video, a top brass is seen pleading with what apears to be leaders of the protesters to evacuate the road
At about the 8:20 minute mark the video suddenly cuts to the aftermath of the violence and shows the Army chief’s convoy passing. No dead bodies are seen in the video, however over 60 people perished in the violence with many more injured.
