An associate Priest, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Onumah, with Mater-Dei Catholic Parish Gwagwalada, has on Sunday admonished Christians to seek the true peace which only God gives.
Onumah gave this advice during his homily at the parish in Gwagwalada, adding that majority of people are so much bothered about what to eat and wear during the yuletide.
“If you are seeking peace you must rely on the kind of peace that Christ brings.
“A lot of hearts are restless because Christmas is approaching. A lot of hearts do not have peace because we are thinking of how Christmas will be.
“The kind of peace that the World does not understand is the kind of peace that a child of God will have; when everything around him/she is war but inside of him is peace.
“When you seek peace from Christ; when you place those worries in God’s hand He will grant you the peace that is above human comprehension.
“It is only Christ that can grant that kind of peace,’’ he reiterated.
He said the kind of peace that God gives is such that one’s heart is at rest when others were anxious of what next to do.
The clergyman encouraged Christians to live a just life and do away with sinful life that could create a barrier to one’s righteousness.
According to him, the Lord God will reward everyone based on his/her deeds. (NAN)
