Mourinho Reacts to De Gea Blunder

Jose Mourinho, manager at Manchester United has backed his goalkeeper David De Gea saying that his mistake could have been made by anyone.

The Spanish shot-stopper was at fault for Portugal’s second goal after he let a Cristiano Ronaldo shot squirm past him and into the net.

Ronaldo went on to score a hat-trick, curling a spectacular free-kick past the rooted Manchester United keeper.

De Gea won the golden glove last season with 17 clean sheets in 38 league games and was instrumental in Manchester United’s second-place finish in the league.

“De Gea is my boy,” Mourinho told RT .

“It hurts me to say it but he knows it was a bad mistake. It’s a mistake he doesn’t make with us at Manchester United because he was named player of the season for fantastic performances.

“But that happens to the best.”

Spain were able to gain a point in that game and now have to face Iran and Morocco, two games they are expected to win to make it to the second round of the World Cup.
