The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), yesterday revealed its new leaders and also unveiled a 17—man steering committee to put things in order with the 2019 elections in view.

The CUPP is made up of around 38 political parties, and held the inauguration at its new secretariat in Wuse, Abuja

Recall that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had recently signed an MoU with some groups including the Reformed—All Progressives Congress (R—APC) to join forces to topple the APC in 2019

The agreement also stated that the coalition would together bring forward a candidate whom they’ll all get behind to get Buhari out of power next year.

According to the Cable, some of the personalities in the committees inaugurated yesterday were; Buba Galadima, R—APC national chairman; Ben Obi, prominent PDP chieftain, and Olagunsoye Oyinlola, a former governor of Osun state.

Others are Tom Ikimi, Tunde Adeniran, Peter Ameh, Tanko Yunusa, Olusegun Peters, Georgina Danagogo, Abdulkadir Abdulsalam, Sam Eke among others.

The CUPP also put together other sub-committees which would be in charge of strategy and other areas of attack.

Tomi Ikimi, chairman of the PDP disciplinary committee, said the coalition will continue to stay immune from external influences.

“There has not been a single crack in the alliance since its formation, despite unsavory attempts by our main opponents, who have deliberately or mischievously attempted to initiate or present non-existent cracks in the alliance to the public,” he said.
