Mourinho Shades Manchester United Over Transfer Inactivity

Manchester United Manager, Jose Mourinho, has hit out at the club for their inactivity in the transfer market and worries that this could be a difficult season.

Last season runners-up have so far only bought two players in with Dalot and Fred joining the club this summer.

Earlier, Mourinho had said that he was only sure of one more signing and that he would have wanted two.

Meanwhile, he has also expressed jealousy over Liverpool’s recruitment policy which has seen them bring in 4 big name players into the squad.

United have been linked with moves for Leicester’s Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld of Tottenham and they hope to bring in one of them before the transfer window closes.

Speaking to MUTV, Mourinho said; “My CEO [Ed Woodward] has known what I want for quite a long time. He knows what I want.

“I know that he tries his best for me. I still have a few days to wait to see what is going to happen.”

Asked if he was unhappy with the state of his squad, Mourinho said; “The other clubs that compete with us, they are really strong, or they already have fantastic teams and squads like Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City… or they are investing massively, like, for example, Liverpool, who are buying everything and everybody.

“So if we don’t make our team better it will be a difficult season for us.”

Manchester United kick off their premier league campaign against Leicester city on the 10th of August and will have till Thursday to finalise any deals they hope to make.
