Lagos PDP Governorship Candidate Jimi Agbaje Alleges Destruction of Campaign Billboards

Lagos state Gubernatorial hopefuls: Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the APC and Jimi Agbaje of the PDP have been locked in an interesting debate.

Agbaje has turned his attention to a TV interview held with Sanwo-Olu in which the latter said that he is poised to change some of the faulty systems in the state.

The PDP candidate was quick to accuse the APC of rushing Sanwo-Olu into an interview in response to an interview that Agbaje himself was around for.

On the topic of Sanwo-Olu being innovative, Agbeje shut him down stating that it was innovation that cost Ambode his place as governor of Lagos state

“Innovative? An attempt at innovation is what has caused the incumbent (Mr Akinwunmi Ambode) a second term,”

He also noted that he doesn’t believe his APC opponent will have a mind of his own if elected into office.

“Your imposition is not on your own terms. You will not be allowed to think freely and run a government. Lagos deserves a free hand and an independent mind; someone who is not tied to the apron strings of a godfather.

“On (your) running mate, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, Lagos is getting an amazing deal, two governors wrapped in one as presented by you is an elixir for anarchy in governance.

“You were billed to be Obafemi Hamzat’s Chief of Staff in his attempt to run for office in 2014. He cannot and will not truly see himself as your deputy. With two powerful energies, the ego battles can only be imagined.”

He also questioned Sanwo-Olu’s past achievements, urging the Governorship candidate to present a list of achievements for all to see

“In your previous roles, what were your achievements? As the Managing Director of the Lagos State Development and Property Corporation, how many housing units were added to solve the housing challenge? As a commissioner, how did the lots of civil servants improve?” Agbaje said

“As the state Commissioner for Commerce, what did you do to improve the ease of doing business? What successes can be attributed to you, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.”
