Former Governor of Anambra State, Jim Nwobodo says that only an Igbo presidency could bring lasting peace to Nigeria.

He stated this at an event to mark his 79th birthday in Enugu over the weekend.

Nwobodo appealed to Ndigbo to come together and support anyone that is doing well to represent the area.

“Nigeria will not know peace until an Igbo becomes President,” Vanguard quoted him as saying during the event.

Nwobodo further appealed to the judiciary to dispense justice without fear or favour, saying that only the judiciary could prevent Nigeria from disintegrating.

Some dignitaries at the event include Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu, Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief John Nnia Nwodo.
