The Enugu State Police Command, on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, paraded 37 suspects, including one Pastor named “Sunday Egbo” before the press for his alleged involvement with a female member of his church.

Pastor Sunday Egbo of Christ Mercy Ministry in Ajuona Obukpa in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu, confessed to raping one of his Church members, Ukwueze Ifebuche Blessing, and an attempt to do money ritual.
The alleged rape led to the Pastors arrest and eventual recovery of a small coffin, multiple female pants and braziers from his house.
The Pastor was said to have invited his victim for a prayer session when he had the carnal knowledge of her. Punch reports that Egbo asked the victim to come along with the picture of her sick brother for prayers.
The Commissioner Of Police, Ahmed Abdulrahman narrated that the suspect “at about 2300 hrs and dragged her to his room, brought out a magic stone and threatened to kill her if she raises alarm.”

Abdulrahman stated that the suspects ordered her to remove her clothes, which the victim refused, he then proceeded to slap her and tore her clothes. He further stated that after the rape, “he seized her pant; brazier and brought small bottle and wanted to insert it into her private part. She struggled and ran out naked.”
While speaking to some journalists, the Pastor confessed that he got the coffin and other items from a native doctor in Kogi state in his quest to get rich.
Egbo stated, “I paid the native doctor N200,000 to get the coffin and flute. He told me to do certain things, after which I would get a Ghana-Must-Go bag full of money in my room.
“But after two weeks, the money did not come as the native doctor had assured me.”
He also advised Nigerians and other Pastors saying, “I believe I was deceived. So, I’m advising other men of God to follow the ways of God. There is no need seeking power and favour from wrong ways.
Speaking of the other suspects, the Police Commissioner said they were paraded for various offences ranging from conspiracy, cultism, armed robbery, unlawful possession of firearms, murder and vandalism.
