A video has emerged of the moment a Michigan man, Sean Ruis was fatally shot by a deputy before being taken to hospital where he died.

Ruis reportedly stabbed a person during a dispute over wearing a face mask inside a convenience store on Tuesday morning.

Eaton County Sheriff Tom Reich stated that the 43-year-old Ruis was not wearing a mask when he stabbed a 77-year-old victim that was wearing one.

He then escaped the scene of the stabbing in a vehicle before an Eaton County Sheriff deputy pulled him over 30 minutes later at  Delta Township, near Lansing.

The deputy, a 22-year veteran, ordered the suspect to drop his weapons as he charged towards her with two knives and a screwdriver after alighting from the vehicle.
She then releases a volley of shots when he refused to heed several warnings, causing injured Ruis to fall to the ground.
The incident was captured on the deputy’s bodycam.
Reich said the unnamed deputy has been placed on administrative leave pending a review of the incident.
