Three pupils have escaped from bandits that abducted them at UBE Primary School, Rama village in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Daily Trust quoted one of the teachers of the school, Naomi Francis, as disclosing that the pupils snuck away as the bandits attempted to rustle some cows and steal motorcycles at a nearby village.

The teacher, who also escaped from the bandits, disclosed that the three pupils had been beaten by their captors before they escaped.

Francis disclosed that the bandits stormed the school Monday morning after the assembly.

She added that six of the bandits entered the school premises while others formed a perimeter around the school.

“I had stepped out from my class when I noticed students of primary 5 and 6 running out. I immediately alerted my students to run and they did,” the paper quoted Francis as saying.

However, nothing has been heard of the three teachers abducted alongside the students.

The Kaduna State Government confirmed the abduction in a terse statement but promised to give detailed information later.

Recall that the state government said on Sunday that bandits attempted to kidnap 307 students from a school in the state but failed.
