Former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff has explained his reason for suspending his ambition to become National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the March 26 Convention.

He gave the reason during a press conference in Abuja on Sunday.

Sheriff said he took the decision to quit the race in compliance with the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari and the party to zone the ticket to the North Central region.

However, he promised to rejoin the race should the party’s position on zoning of the national chairmanship post change.
