Former Jigawa State Governor and PDP presidential aspirant, Sule Lamido has faulted President Muhammadu Buhari’s alleged failure to deliver on his core campaign promises of fighting corruption, reviving the economy and tackling insecurity.

He said that Buhari has left Nigeria worse than he met it, with corruption increasing, Nigerians getting poorer, and herdsmen killings making nonsense of the nation’s security infrastructure.

Lamido added that Buhari is relentlessly waging war against perceived political opponents rather than combating corruption as he promised before the 2015 presidential election that brought him to power.

Furthermore, he said that the continued killings in herdsmen and farmers clashes across the country showed that the APC government led by Buhari lied to Nigerians about securing their lives.

Lamido said,  “Nigeria has been reduced to a thriving abattoir where killings are now taking place on a daily basis.

“Nigerians are being killed in their scores, in Adamawa, Taraba, Plateau, Zamfara, Birnin Gwari, Kaduna.
“We have become a divided people, and the current government doesn’t even seem to bother that it’s divisive misrule is tearing us apart;
“This is certainly not the Nigeria of our founding fathers who shuttled to and from London to emancipate us and it is not the Nigeria of our dream when we came up with the PDP.”
Lamido explained that he decided to contest for the presidency to right the wrongs committed by the APC government led by Buhari.

He said, “My desire to serve the people and contribute my quarter is to redeem our bad and ailing economy.

“l am the person Nigerians needs now; I have all it takes to salvaged our country.”
Lamido appeared to shade former Vice President Atiku Abubakar when he urged delegates to withhold support for politicians who abandon the party at the least sign of trouble, adding that “they don’t deserve our party’s platform to vie for any political office.

“Our party was vilified, demonised and even some of our senior party members who became governors, senators, vice President and even president under the PDP played to the gallery and ditched our party.”
