Babajide Gbadamosi, Lagos state 2019 governorship candidate of the African Democratic Party has officially defected to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Lagos chapter.
Mr Deji Doherty, the party chairman of PDP in Lagos State, Received Gbadamosi and his supporters at a ceremony which took place at PDP secretariat in Ikeja.
According to Doherty, the defection was geared towards preparation for the coming 2023 governorship election.
He commended Gbadamosi and his supporters for returning to the PDP early and disclosed that there is a big challenge confronting the state that requires collective imput and efforts to solve.
Reports claimed that Doherty accused the ruling All Progressive Congress of incurring huge debt for the state hence the state needs an intervention before plunging into bankruptcy.

He said:
“I am shocked at the rate the APC-led government in Lagos State is incurring debt, something should be done to prevent the state from going bankrupt.”
