AK-47 wielding gunmen kill one, abduct many passengers in Osun

Field Commander, Amotekun Corps in Osun, Amitolu Shittu has confirmed the killing of one passenger and kidnap of many others by AK-47-wielding gunmen in the state.

Shittu spoke Wednesday after visiting the scene of the Tuesday evening incident that occurred near Ajebandele, a village in the Obokun Local Government Area along the Osogbo/Ibokun road.

It was learnt that the incident occurred between 7:30 and 8:00 pm.

The attackers were said to have waylaid some oncoming vehicles and discharged their passengers who were later whisked into the bush.

However, it was not immediately clear why the assailants shot the dead passenger, whose name could not be established as of press time.

However, Shittu said that search and rescue operation had commenced for the abducted victims.
