All Share Index Dips by 0.60%

The All Share Index of the Nigerian Stock Exchange continued its downward plunge on the back of weak demand on the floor of the exchange today. The ASI lost 0.60% to end the day at 30,405.88 basis points against 2.02% lost at the last trading session on Friday. Market Capitalization for the market at the close of trading today was N10.44 trillion.

The total number of deals recorded on the floor reduced by a 5.88% with only 3,056 deals recorded against a 9.88% reduction recorded on Friday. However, the total volume of shares traded on the floor increased by 52.73% against a reduction of 34.06% recorded on Friday, while the total value of transactions recorded reduced by 33.15% against a decrease of 40.30% recorded on Friday.

The top five most actively traded shares on the exchange today were MBENEFIT, UNITYBNK, UBA, ZENITHBANK and ACCESS.

Market breadth closed positive as NASCON led 15 Gainers against 30 Losers led by UACN.

Year-To-Date currently stands at -12.27%.
