Ambode Suspends Transport Unionism In Oshodi Following Hamburger’s Death

The Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode has suspended transport unionism in Oshodi, Lagos state.

The latest development by the state government comes on the heels of the murder of a popular union leader, Rasaq Bello popularly known as Hamburger.

Ambode’s suspension order was declared during a press briefing on Monday by the Lagos State Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Anofiu Elegushi.

The latest decision by the Lagos State Government will affect all the seven branches of the National Union of Road Transport Workers operating in the Oshodi area.

The commissioner during the announcement disclosed that there will be no issuance of tickets or collection of money from commercial vehicles operating in the area while the order lasts.
