Ever since the President Muhammadu Buhari administration focused its laser beams on anti-corruption, several key members of the Jonathan administration have become sick, injured, or missing in action.
Of note is Haliru Bello Mohammed who stands accused of collecting N600 million from the Office of The National Security Adviser during the Jonathan presidency.
Another key past official, Diezani Alison Madueke is reportedly down with cancer and receiving treatment in the United Kingdom and unable to return to Nigeria to answer questions concerning her stewardship as Oil minister.
Recently, the former Director General of NIMASA, Patrick Akpobolokemi, showed up in court on crutches. The embattled former DG stands accused of misappropriating N601, 516.13 and $1,766,428.62.
The former Comptroller General of Customs, Abdulahi Dikko is also said to be missing even as he has been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The former customs boss is thought to be in Dubai on health grounds. Orders are in effect at all Nigerian border points to take Dikko into custody whenever he is spotted returning to the country.
