Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of setting up for failure a National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu with his appointment as the Chairman of the APC Reconciliation Team.
According to a Tuesday statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President, Mallam Garba Shehu, the former Lagos State Governor was appointed to lead the consultation, reconciliation and confidence building efforts toward improving cohesion within the party.
But Fani-Kayode said the appointment was akin to a Greek gift meant to discredit Tinubu and blame him for failing.
He said, “When a king wants to destroy his top general he sends him on a mission that is impossible to achieve or to a battle that can’t be won.
“Sending BAT (Bola Ahmed Tinubu) to settle differences between APC members is mission impossible. And the objective is to destroy him and blame him for its failure.”
