The Secretary to the Osun state Government (SSG), Moshood Adeoti, has reportedly declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) may lose the September 22 governorship election if any of the contestants is endorsed for the Governorship position.

Adeoti, a native of Iwo local government area of Osun West Senatorial district, stated this in Abuja when he visited the party’s national secretariat.

Adeoti, who is also aspiring to become the governor of the state, said anything that makes the party jettisons the conventional rule of zoning would make it lose the election.

Adeoti however denied knowledge of the report that Aregbesola had endorsed his chief of staff, Adegboyega Oyetola. He warned that the APC may get it wrong if that happens.

“Let me tell you, I am hearing that for the first time. I am saying it emphatically that if that one should happen in that state, may God forbid bad thing; we are going to get it wrong.

“Simply because of the fact that even, when they are saying that there is no zoning in our constitution, I believe that indirectly, we have zoning.

“Baba Akande came from Ila federal constituency, Oyinlola came from Ifelodun/Boripe/ Odo-Otin local government,” he argued.

He also said Aregbesola, who would be stepping down on November 29, is from the eastern part of the state.
