President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the family of Chairman of Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, whose daughter was shot dead on Friday.

Buhari’s condolence message was conveyed in a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.

Olakunrin, 58, was killed along the Ore-Shagamu Expressway at Kajola Village in Odigbo Local Government Area of the state during an armed robbery, a source said.

But Afenifere spokesman, Yinka Odumakin said that herdsmen were involved in the killing.

However, the presidency aligned with the position of the Ondo State Police Command which said that armed robbers perpetrated the killing.

“The deceased was reportedly shot Friday along the Kajola-Ore road, in Ondo State, by those the police described as armed robbers.

“The President prayed that God will comfort Pa Fasoranti, and give him the fortitude to bear the grievous loss.

“He also directed security agencies to swing into action, and bring the hoodlums to justice in the shortest possible time,” the terse presidential statement read in part.
