The media is reporting that President Jonathan personally intervened to upturn the arrest of former Niger Delta militant Asari Dokubo and sent a Presidential Jet to ferry him back to Abuja after his 72 hour detention by the gendarmes.
Beninoise President Yayi Boni fielded a telephone call from President Jonathan and ordered the release of the embattled ex-militant with a sprawling business empire in Benin Republic.
There is no word yet on why Dokubo was arrested in the first instance.
