The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) is seeking to use property seized from looters for its office accommodation.

The EFCC spokesman, Mr Dele Oyewale, said this in a statement on Monday in Abuja.

ASCON’s board chairman, Mr Nduka Anyanwu, made the request during a visit to EFCC headquarters in Abuja, Oyewale said.

Anyanmu said that if the request was granted, it would save the government the cost of building a new structure for the college for training purpose.

He explained that the visit was to further strengthen the good working relationship between the EFCC and ASCON.

Anyanwu stated that the sterling efforts of the Acting Chairman of the Commission, Mr Ibrahim Magu, in making Nigeria a better place are not going unnoticed among Nigerians and the global community.

“We are aware of your achievements. Nigerians are proud of you and are praying for you,” he said.

Responding, Magu expressed his warm appreciation for the visit and assured the team of the commission’s willingness to grant the request.

He stressed that forfeited properties would serve better purposes if released for the use of government agencies.

Magu also disclosed that some of the commission’s staff are products of ASCON’s training.

“ASCON is a household name; I have also attended your training. It is a training school of pride with robust training services. We are ready to oblige your request,” Magu said.
