Music stars, Ashanti and Nelly are expecting their first child together, months after the former lovers rekindled their romance.
It will be 43-year-old Ashanti’s first child, while 49-year-old Nelly has two grown-up children with ex-girlfriend Channeta Valentine.
“Nelly and Ashanti are welcoming their first baby together,” US Weekly quoted an unnamed source as saying.
Ashanti’s pregnancy reports followed another report by TMZ which said that, while appearing at Nelly’s 11th Black and White Ball for charity in his hometown of St. Louis, he and Ashanti both posed for photos with their hands on their bellies as part of a possible “inside joke.”
The pair previously dated on and off from 2003 to 2013, and sparked rumour of a reconciliation in April when they were spotted holding hands at a boxing match in Las Vegas.
In September, Nelly announced he had become a grandfather after his 29-year-old daughter, Chanelle ‘Nana’ Haynes, welcomed her first son named Ace.
