A former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has said that Vice President Atiku Abubakar has never been found wanting despite being Nigeria’s most investigated politician.

Omokri said this on Sunday as part of a daily series he is running tagged: #WhyShouldIVoteAtiku.

He said that Atiku’s political opponents have put in their best efforts to besmirch his name but failed.

“Atiku Abubakar is Nigeria’s most investigated politician in Nigeria, yet he has never been found wanting, despite the best efforts of his political opponents. He is not the subject of a criminal forfeiture of drug money, like Tinubu, or mentioned in the Pandora Papers for corruption, like Peter Obi.

“Which is probably why he was the first Presidential candidate invited by the United States Department for talks on Nigeria-US relations and cooperation. No other Nigerian Presidential candidate has ever been bestowed with such honours in the history of our nation. It speaks volumes,” Omokri said.

He said that under an Atiku presidency, drug cartels would never find a safe haven in Nigeria.

“Our youths will not be destroyed by hard drugs, like those distributed by the Chicago white heroin drug cartel that Tinubu was involved in.

“We will have a wholesome youth, whose future prospects would be brightened by better education, because Waziri is a known lover of education,” Omokri said.

“And our Naira will appreciate under an Atiku Presidency, because money made in Nigeria will not be permitted by an Atiku led administration to be illegally repatriated to offshore accounts, as was revealed in the Pandora Papers. Nigerian made money will be encouraged to circulate within Nigeria to lubricate our economy.

“And finally, Waziri Atiku has said he will end the multiple exchange rate regime, which will not only improve the value of the Naira, but such a move will give foreign investors confidence to invest in Nigeria, and democratise access to the nation’s wealth.

“It is for these reasons, and others that I encourage all Nigerians to vote Waziri Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party during the Saturday, February 25, 2023 election,” Omokri said.
