Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Senate President Bukola Saraki have mourned the demise of the National Women Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Professor Stella Effah-Attoe.

Her family said she died on Sunday after a brief illness.

In a statement he personally signed, Atiku said, “I am heartbroken over the passing of Prof. Stella Effah-Attoe, the National Woman Leader of our great party, the PDP.

“A beacon of brilliance, she greatly impacted not only her state, Cross River but also our nation.

“My deepest condolences to her family, PDP, and the people of Cross River State.

“May her gentle soul rest in peace.”

In his statement, Saraki described the deceased as a paragon of humility, a role model to millions, and a dedicated public servant.

“In every capacity she served, she championed justice, equality, and women’s rights— and her death has left a huge vacuum in our party and the nation as a whole.

“Today, we mourn the passing of this titan amongst leaders. I extend my deepest and most heartfelt condolences to her family, the people of Cross River State, the PDP family, and all those whose lives she touched.
She will be dearly missed,” Saraki said in a statement on Sunday.
