The Secretary General, Council of Yoruba Obas and Olojudo of Ido Osun, Oba Aderemi Adedapo has described the Olugbo of Ugbo land, Oba Akinruntan as an attention seeker whose aim is to cause dispute among the council of Yoruba Obas in the country.

The comment comes after the Olugbo of Ugbo land claimed he is the rightful leader of all Ypruba monarchs in the country as contained in his book which he plans on releasing a sequel to.

Oba Aderemi Adedapo while reacting to the comment made by the Olugbo noted that his claims are untrue as no one could rewrite the history of Yoruba land to suit his purpose.

Speaking on Monday in Osogbo, the Olojudo of Ido Osun maintained that the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi remains the leader of all Yoruba monarchs without any controversy.

While speaking in Osogbo, Oba Adedapo who is also the Coordinator, South-West Council of Traditional Rulers disclosed that the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, was a key player in Oba Akinruntan’s ascension to the throne.

Oba Adedapo added: “Oba Akinruntan is an attention seeker. He is a rabble rouser, he deserves no response but some people especially outside the country may tend to believe his claim if he is not corrected.

“His utterance is part of royal rascality we are talking about. Does he want to rewrite history or what? Nobody can rewrite history. The late Ooni Sijuwade made it possible for him to become the Olugbo.

“He must withdraw that statement within the next 96 hours which is four days. What he is saying is abominable in Yorubaland.”
