Christmas came early for one struggling Miami family as Nigerian-American basketballer, Bam Adebayo paid their one-year rent.
The beneficiary, Travillia Bogan, a single mother of two sets of twins, was on the verge of being evicted from her home when 23-year-old Bam Adebayo came to the rescue like Father Christmas.
Bogan had been struggling to support her family two years after she was involved in a serious car accident.
But for the next one year, rent, which she confirmed to be one of her biggest worries, would no longer be an issue.
Complex reported that besides providing the funds for the family’s one-year rent, the Miami Heat star also promised to help with the upkeep and maintenance of the house, like upgrading the décor and improving the landscaping around the property.
Bogan shed tears of joy Wednesday when she received the check for the rent.
However, Bam Adebayo, who was named an NBA All-Star and voted to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team during the 2019–20 season, said he felt glad to have such an opportunity to be of help to Bogan’s family.
“It’s gotta be No. 1. Just helping somebody like that, in that situation, and all the negative situations that’s happened to her the last couple of months, that’s definitely top of my list,” Complex quoted New Jersey-born basketballer to have said.
