Bandits abduct ‘many’ residents in Kaduna

Suspected bandits have abducted an unspecified number of residents of Anguwan Gimbiya community in Kaduna State.

It was learnt that the assailants stormed the area around 11pm on Wednesday, wielding sophisticated weapons.

No fewer than five houses were attacked by the bandits, who were said to have stormed the area in large numbers, TheCable reported.

The Herald learnt that the attack fuelled a protest that occurred along Sabon Tasha road, with many angry residents protesting the abductions.

The Kaduna State Police Command has yet to confirm the incident, as the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Mohammed Jalige promised to provide information later.

This came barely two days after 121 students of Bethel Baptist High School Kaduna were confirmed kidnapped by bandits.

President, Kaduna Baptist Conference and Proprietor of the school, Rev. Yahaya Adamu Jangado confirmed that the bandits have contacted the school over the abduction.
