Barcelona reacts to Real Madrid’s league title win

Real Madrid won their 34th La Liga title with a 2-1 victory over Villarreal on Thursday night and arch-rivals Barcelona have reacted to the feat.

Two goals from Karim Benzema either side of half time helped Zinedine Zidane’s side open up a seven-point gap over Barcelona with one game to go in the league.

On the other hand, the Catalan side lost 1-2 to Osasuna at Camp Nou despite the visitors going one-man down in the 77th minute.

Reacting through their official Twitter handle, Barcelona congratulated Real Madrid on the league title win, the first since the 2016/2017 season.

“Congratulations to Real Madrid on winning the 2019/20 La Liga title,” the Catalan side tweeted.

Los Blancos’s goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois wrote, “It wasn’t easy. But we made it as a team. This title is the ultimate reward for our determination. For not giving up. For working hard. For you, who kept believing in us. Thank you!”

Pichichi contender, Benzema congratulated all the club’s fans and dedicated the title win to victims of COVID-19 all over the world.

He wrote, “One more title for all Madrid fans and for all the families of Covid victims! By staying together great things are accomplished.”
