The Bayelsa gubernatorial election may have come and gone, but the ripples left behind have refused to go away.

One of such is the shooting of the traditional ruler of Peremabiri community, Chief Progress Never Die, who was shot by men allegedly led by Eris Paul, alias Ogunboss, in the re-run election in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.

According to reports, Never Die, who was first treated at the Glory Land Hospital in the state capital, Yenagoa, and later an undisclosed hospital in Abuja, is expected to be flown abroad for better medical treatment.

Also, the death toll of victims of the gubernatorial election has risen to 20 from 14 that was earlier speculated.

It was gathered that documents to facilitate Never Die’s travel are being compiled to ensure he gets better treatment abroad.

In the same vein, The State Police Commissioner, Peter Ogunyanwo, has vowed to deal decisively with anyone implicated in the electoral violence that claimed the lives of several people in the state.

He said that the command would ensure that any culprit, Ogunboss and others, faces thorough prosecution after the conclusion of investigations.

The commissioner noted that the police was working round the clock to ensure that peace and tranquillity was restored to Peremabiri community.
