Black Lives Matter (BLM) co-founder, Patrisse Cullors has admitted lying when she said she had never used the group’s $6million Los Angeles mansion for personal use.

In an interview with Associated Press on Monday, Cullors admitted that she used the property, bought in October 2020, for non-official use on two occasions.

The first time, she said, was in January 2021 when she threw a party to toast Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s inauguration as president and vice president.

Two months later, she used the controversial 6,500 square-foot Studio City property to host her son’s birthday party.

The 38-year-old previously issued a statement denying she had ever lived there or used the property for her personal gain.

Speaking to AP, Cullors said she intended to pay a fee to rent the property for her son’s birthday.

Black Lives Matter has since confirmed that it had billed her – but it’s unclear how much for, if she was charged the same rate as anyone else, and if she has since settled up the supposed debt.

Speaking about lying the first time, Cullors said: “I look back at that and think, that probably wasn’t the best idea.”

The group’s top brass have been under intense criticism in recent times over their financial dealings.
