Boko Haram attacks Adamawa town

Suspected members of the Boko Haram sect descended on a community in Michika local government area of Adamawa state in the late hours of Monday.

Residents reportedly fled into the bush and nearby mountains to avoid the wrath of the insurgents.

It was also that the insurgents had first struck at Shuwa village in Madaglai local government area of the state around 6:45pm.

The police public relation officer (PPRO) in the state, Othman Abubakar, told newsmen that he was yet to get details of the attack. Sani Usman, spokesman of the army, could also not be reached for comments.

Michika is the hometown of a former military administrator of Lagos state, Buba Marwa.

The attack came few hours after Marwa led 13 major generals, eight air vice marshals, two rear admirals, 11 brigadier-generals, nine air commodores, eight commodores and 17 former military administrators — all retired, to Aso Rock to endorse President Muhammadu Buhari.

Marwa, had said if Buhari had failed in his duties, they would not have endorsed him. The retired general currently heads the presidential advisory committee on the elimination of drug abuse in the country.
