Tired and frustrated with what they perceive as targeted attacks on their people, the World Igbo Congress has dragged the leadership of Boko Haram to the United Nations.

This was disclosed at the 19th World Igbo Congress, WIC, in Dallas, United States of America on Friday.

President of WIC, Nze Joe Eto told the convention that the step had to be taken to mitigate the killings and destruction of Igbo lives and property by Boko Haram.

He told the convention: “Regularly, Boko Haram visit the Igbo with death and destruction of property. Igbos are shipped in death bags and this must stop”

Eto said that the case before the UN would be heard in April, 2014, pointing out that Igbos across the globe must carefully work to stem the tide of violence against them across Nigeria.

Executive Director of WIC, Prof. Anthony Ejiofor said that all hands must be on deck to ensure that Igbos pursue their legitimate goals unhindered by violence.

The WIC agreed to take steps to promote development programmes across Igboland.

The World Igbo Congress attracted professionals, businessmen and affiliates from across the United States, Europe and Nigeria.
