Security details attached to Borno state Governor, Babagana Zulum have debunked rumours of terrorist attack on the governor and his convoy.

It was on Saturday purported that Zulum’s convoy got attacked by Boko Haram terrorists after his visit to Baga.

However, Isa Gusau, Governor’s spokesperson has refuted the report.

Isa disclosed the governor visited Baga to monitor the distribution of 5,000 food items to residents and returned safely to Maiduguri.

He maintained Zulum had a reputation for publicly condemning terrorists attacks, hence would not keep mum if such incident occurred.

“As members of the public can testify, it is the culture and principle of Professor Zulum to say things as they are. In this case, it is what it is – no attack whatsoever.

Any media organization that wants further clarification may wish to contact the Nigerian military.”

“He gratefully commended the Armed Forces, Police and civilian volunteers for the relentless efforts in fully restoring lasting peace to Borno State” the statement added.
