After weeks of speculation, it seems the new Arsenal manager will be confirmed soon and the appointment seems to be a surprise.

Mikel Arteta had been the leading candidate with many wary over his lack of experience, but it seems that it will indeed be Unai Emery who will take over the reins at the Emirates stadium.

The former Sevilla and PSG boss seems set to be announced this week.

This report comes from highly reliable BBC sports correspondent David Ornstein who has always been spot on with his Arsenal related news.

In a tweet release about half an hour ago, he said: Arsenal to appoint Unai Emery as new manager. Thorough process produced 46yo Spaniard as unanimous choice. Available after leaving (1 Lg1 title, 4 cups), previously Sevilla (3 EL wins), not fluent English. Announcement + press conference likely later this week

Emery won 3 Europa League trophies with Sevilla including two back to back, he also has experience managing top talent as was evident in his time with PSG.

Emery is likely to want to bring in his own backroom staff and with the recent clearout at the Emirates, it seems that there will be more exciting announcements in the coming days.
