Bryshere Gray Arrested For Allegedly Assaulting His Wife

Empire actor, Bryshere Gray has been arrested after his wife alleged he assaulted and strangled her in their home on Monday.

According to a press release, officers in the Arizona city west of Phoenix received a 911 call on Sunday night about a woman saying she had been assaulted for several hours by her husband, whom she identified as the 26-year-old actor.

His wife, who had multiple injuries visible on her body, told police that Bryshere Gray strangled her and that she had temporarily lost consciousness.

She was taken to a nearby hospital where she was treated for her injuries and later released.

When officers arrived at the actor’s residence, he refused to come out of the house. Goodyear SWAT and Crisis Negotiations were called in to assist.

Gray, who played Hakeem Lyon on the Fox TV series, was taken into custody on Monday at about 7am at his home in Goodyear, Arizona, where he had barricaded himself overnight.  He was taken into custody and booked into the Maricopa County Jail.

Gray now faces charges including assault (domestic violence), aggravated assault (strangulation) and disorderly conduct.

Following her hospital discharge, Gray’s wife is being assisted by Goodyear detectives and a victim advocate, AZ Family reported.
