Burna Boy Celebrates “Burna Boy Day” in Boston

Grammy Award-winning Nigerian singer, Burna Boy (real name Damini Ogulu), expressed his gratitude after the city of Boston declared March 2nd as “Burna Boy Day” in his honor.

This recognition comes after the Boston City Council acknowledged Burna Boy’s “performances and advocacy works” and presented him with a plaque during the city’s leg of his “I Told Them” tour on Saturday.

Taking to social media, Burna Boy shared a photo of himself holding the plaque on stage, accompanied by a heartfelt message. “I feel incredibly honoured and privileged! Thank you Boston!” he wrote.

He further emphasized his goal of uniting people through music, stating: “The goal has always been the same, to bring the world together. We are all so different but all the same!

Burna Boy concluded his post by proudly declaring, “2nd of March a.k.a Burna Boy Day.
