Chelsea have agreed to sign Brighton’s young talismanic midfielder, Moises Caicedo for a British record fee of £115 million.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are expected to pay an initial £100 million, plus £15 million in performance-related add-ons.

The 21-year-old Ecuadorian will undergo a medical on Monday before signing an eight-year contract with the Stamford Bridge side.

Caicedo was believed to be heading towards Liverpool, who agreed a £111 million deal to sign him earlier this week, but the move failed after the player informed the Anfield side he intended to join Chelsea.

The midfielder had been expected to travel to Liverpool for a medical on Friday after Jurgen Klopp’s side had a bid accepted by Brighton following a midnight deadline for bids on Thursday.
