Chinese Man Applies To Women Only University To Find A Mate

In China An 18-year-old male teenager has become an online sensation after he applied to the Women’s University in Beijing for an improved chance at finding a girlfriend.

In some provinces in China, there are as many as 130 boys for every 100 girls, and some specialists estimate that tens of millions of Chinese men will be unable to find a wife in the coming decades.

The plucky 18-year-old teen decided to go against the odds and improve his chances of finding a female romantic partner by applying to a women’s college.

In a video shot before the young man’s admission interview and posted online with the permission of the Women’s University in Beijing, he candidly admits that one of the reasons he wanted to study there was to make it easier for himself to find a girlfriend.

“This school has many girls – if [I] can study here there won’t be a problem finding a companion.

“My father told me to be careful … he doesn’t want his son to change too much from being in an environment surrounded by women.” he was quoted saying in a video posted with the University’s permission.

The university was established and is run by the All-China Women’s Federation and takes 1,500 students every year – about 1 per cent of men.

Its courses range from law, computer science, finance and business management to education and foreign languages. The report did not say which course the student was applying for, but arts is the only faculty that accepts men, for its broadcasting major

“We have toilets for men in our buildings and in the library.

“The men’s dormitory is small … but their rooms are more spacious,” an official from the University said.
