Justice Inyang Ekwo in the Federal High Court in Lokoja convicted former member of the Kogi State House of Assembly and former Caretaker Chairman, Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area of the state, Gabriel Daudu for N1.4bn fraud.

The EFCC prosecuted Daudu on a 208-count charge bordering on money laundering and misappropriation of public funds.

The Judge, Justice Ekwo found Daudu guilty for 77 of those charges and sentenced the lawmaker to 154 years behind bars.

In his ruling, the trial judge held that the prosecution proved its case beyond every reasonable doubt, and therefore sentenced Mr. Daudu to two years on each of the 77 counts to run concurrently.

This would mean that Daudu would only actually spend 2 years in jail since he’ll be serving time for every count against him at the same time.
