COVID-19: Federal Poly., Nasarawa Set To Resume November 16

The Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, will resume academic activities on Nov. 16.

The institution’s Rector, Dr Abdullahi Ahmed, said in a statement on Monday that the decision was taken at the 455th Meeting of the Academic Board.

He said that all the necessary guidelines and preventive measures on COVID-19 pandemic had been put in place by the school’s management to ensure a safe academic environment.

Ahmed said that the use of face masks, frequent washing of hands, use of sanitizer, observing social and physical distancing must be strictly observed by students and staff.

He said that the institution had set up a sub-committee charged with the implementation of COVID-19 guidelines and protocols on campus.

The rector warned that COVID-19 defaulters would be sanctioned accordingly in line with the approved penalties for non-compliance.

He advised that any suspected case of the virus should be reported to the Polytechnic Health Services for immediate referral to the nearest COVID-19 testing centre.

Ahmed said that arrangement had been concluded to fumigate the school before the resumption of academic activities.

He pointed out that the decontamination would focus on the classrooms, hostels and other relevant places within the institution. (NAN)
