The surge of cases in Ghana comes weeks after the government eased the lockdown in the country.

Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo lifted a three-week lockdown on the 19th of April 2020 after the country recorded 1,042 cases and 99 recoveries at that time. After lifting the lockdown, a lot of Ghanaians took to the streets to celebrate.

However, the celebrations didn’t last for long as the country has recorded 1000 new cases since the lockdown was lifted.

Meanwhile, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has warned Lagosians that another lockdown is imminent if they continue to disobey social distancing orders.

The government eased the lockdown on Lagos state after a month of lockdown in the state, however, easing of the lockdown came with rules that Lagosians are expected to follow.

Sanwo-Olu expressed displeasure that some Lagosians, especially those in the transportation sector did not obey the social distancing order in totality.
